My daughter changes her socks two or three times every morning until they feel right on her feet. She isn’t being difficult. She’s a six-year-old consulting her own nervous system about comfort and then acting on the information. Do you know how many adults can’t do that? How many years of somatic work people pay for to get back to “these socks feel bad, I’m going to change them”? And then I have to say the sentence. “We have to go, my love.
