About 120,000 Duke Energy customers are without power Wednesday morning after storms slammed the region with high winds, bringing down trees and power lines.
The number of customers without power at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, is down from a peak more than 180,000 the evening before. The peak outages in the area amounted to 20 percent of all Duke Energy customers in Ohio and Kentucky.
