Next week is the last week of February, which 🤯, but also means it’s National Invasive Species Awareness Week.
The USGS is a leader in producing science that helps people to understand, prevent, and control invasive species, which are nonnative animals, plants, and microbes that make their home in a new area AND cause or have the possibility to cause major problems for people and the environment.
Tune in all next week to learn about USGS invasive species science. On Monday, the NAISMA is hosting a webinar where you can learn directly from USGS scientists about their invasive species-related research. Sign up for the webinar at the link in our story.
BONUS!—check out our Instagram story on Monday for an opportunity to ask and have a scientist answer your most burning questions about invasive species.
