The mighty Columbia Glacier in southern Alaska has been undergoing a drastic transformation, and it’s anything but slow.  While glaciers are often symbols of gradual change, Columbia Glacier tells a very different story. Since the 1980s, this massive tidewater glacier has retreated more than 20 kilometers (12 miles) and lost over HALF of its volume.
