Volcanoes of Snow! ❄️🌋 Cryovolcanism is the process where a volcano erupts substances like water, ammonia, or carbon dioxide instead of the silicate lava we’re familiar with on Earth. These eruptions occur in environments where the temperature is below freezing, creating spectacular plumes of icy material. Check out this stunning image of Enceladus, one of Saturn’s moons.
