According to apnews, Mangione told the court, “On the morning of Dec. 4, 2024, I shot Mr. Thompson in Manhattan, and he died.” ____________________________________ Mangione was charged by federal and state prosecutors, and this guilty plea now resolves one of the two cases. His legal team could reportedly seek to have the state case thrown out on double jeopardy grounds. His sentencing is set for December 18th.
