Amazing Red says he turned down the TNA Hall of Fame more than once before the surprise induction happened.
Speaking with chrisvanvliet on Insight, Red said TNA reached out a couple of times about the Hall of Fame and he passed, feeling he was not Hall of Fame bound yet: "I don't feel like I'm old." He said he genuinely did not know the induction was happening until Frankie Kazarian grabbed the mic, and as for what comes next, "I'm never gonna retire. I'm just gonna let it happen."
Red also told the full story of his 2005 WWE dark match with CM Punk, saying he was told it was Punk's last-ditch effort to get signed, that his own signature moves kept getting vetoed backstage, and that he was bitter for years before letting it go: "I don't hate him. I love that dude, honestly."
He also talked about inventing the Code Red at 16 on his little brother, and seeing John Cena use it: "Ain't no way I'm taking that from John Cena."
