Jim Ross says he is optimistic ahead of brain surgery scheduled for Wednesday.
The WWE Hall of Famer and AEW commentator thanked fans on X for their support and explained the procedure: a small hole drilled in his skull with a tube running to his stomach to drain excess brain fluid. "I'm optimistic. Thanks to all."
Ross, 74, first revealed the upcoming surgery in July following a hospital stay of more than a month. On this week's Grilling JR, he said the operation takes place in Norman, Oklahoma, and that doctors expect a one-day hospital stay, a timeline he said surprised him. He has also said he hopes to recover in time to be at AEW All In in the United Kingdom on August 30.
Wishing JR a smooth procedure and a full recovery.
