I have a few key memories from SeaWheeze 2026. I get to work a lot of races, but this weekend, this half marathon, was something super special.
I was honored and absolutely delighted to get to be this year’s start and finish line emcee alongside codyrigsby. We had the best view of all the action, and there was so much magic out there.
The moment that stands out was at the start line. Typically, start lines are clusters of nervous energy. Especially at the very front of the pack, the runners are quiet, they’re trying to stay warm, they’re in their own heads.
So it genuinely blew my mind when, with two minutes to go, I looked out at the field of 10,000 runners, and I swear to you, they (you) were all dancing. The runners with their toes on the line — including philybowden, who went on to win the women’s race —...
