Is Sandy Hook one of the best family beaches in New Jersey? πβοΈ I think it might be!
We spent the day at Sandy Hook, part of the Gateway National Recreation Area, and it was such a great family beach day. We parked at Lot D, which had bathrooms, showers and food trucks nearby. πΏπ
The waves were surprisingly calm, making it perfect for the kids to playβand yes, Mom got in on the boogie-board fun too! ππββοΈ
One of my favorite things? How clean the beach was. Since Sandy Hook is part of the National Park Service, there are strict rules about packing out what you bring in. ποΈβ‘οΈπ
And unlike many NJ beach towns, thereβs no boardwalk right there tempting the kids to spend money all day. π You can bring your own food and drinks, spread out your beach blanket, collect seashells, play in the sand, ride the waves and just enjoy the day.
π° Entrance: $20 per vehicle (not per person), so a family of four can visit for one vehicle fee.
