Back to School: First Day Success Tips
The first day of school can bring plenty of excitement, but it can also come with nervousness for students and parents. A new classroom, different teachers, unfamiliar schedules, and new expectations can make even experienced students feel a little anxious. Preparing ahead of time can make that first morning much smoother.
Start the night before. Choose clothes, pack backpacks, charge devices, organize school supplies, and make sure anything that needs to be signed is ready to go. Taking care of those details before bedtime can prevent a frantic search for missing shoes, homework folders, or chargers in the morning.
Getting enough sleep matters too. Summer schedules can make returning to an early bedtime difficult, so families may want to begin adjusting sleep routines before classes start. A rested student is more likely to arrive ready to concentrate and participate.
