WASHINGTON INSIDER The United States is making a major digital infrastructure push across the Caribbean — and Washington is putting secure networks and trusted vendors at the center of the strategy. U.S. officials joined Caribbean government officials, regulators and industry leaders in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, this week for the Caribbean Association of National Telecommunications Organizations Annual General Meeting. The United States pressed regional governments to exclude untrusted vendors from information and communications technology systems while moving toward upgraded and secure networks.
