Flames move through vegetation just beyond a bulldozer in newly released video from the Grasshopper fire, offering a close-up look at what crews encountered overnight while working the wildfire’s eastern side. The footage was posted Tuesday by the official Grasshopper Fire Facebook page. It was shared by the night shift operating E-361, a Type 2 dozer. Crews are using dozers to clear and strengthen firelines intended to help contain the blaze. The Grasshopper fire had reached 77,311 acres by Tuesday, with containment at 20% and 1,680 people assigned to the response. The previous day, the Oregon State Fire Marshal put the lightning-caused fire at 63,659 acres and 23% containment.
