I had an incredible time with 600 women at the National Association of Women in Construction, representing every corner of the industry from the field to the C-suite, government, commercial, residential, and heavy industrial construction. Women are still a smaller part of the construction industry, which makes the impact of this group even more impressive. So many are stepping into roles where the person before them didn’t look like them, didn’t have their background, or didn’t take the same path. And they’re not waiting for the industry to change before they make an impact. They’re stepping up, breaking barriers, leading teams, solving problems, and showing the people coming behind them what’s possible. That’s excellence to me, not just achieving more, but expanding what’s possible for yourself and for the people who come next.
