Chris Tucker improvised a huge amount of his dialogue in the original Rush Hour. His improv was sometimes so extensive that they struggled to edit scenes together coherently. Even the iconic “Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?!” was improvised by Tucker rather than scripted. Tucker later personally confirmed that the line was improvised. It makes Detective Carter feel less like a written character and more like Chris Tucker just being unleashed around Jackie Chan. 😂 #rushhour
