There was a time when I completely stopped caring about myself. I stopped caring about how I looked, how much weight I gained, or what I saw when I looked in the mirror. I was surviving, not living.
The hardest part is that nobody really knew how bad I was hurting because I got good at smiling through it. I could laugh, show up, and tell everyone I was okay while quietly falling apart inside.
But something in me decided I couldn’t keep abandoning myself.
So I started working out again. I started trying to take care of my body, my mind, and the person underneath all the pain. Some days I genuinely feel stronger. Other days, the smile is still covering a battle nobody knows I’m fighting.
I’m not doing this because I suddenly stopped being depressed. I’m doing it because I’m finally realizing that I deserve to fight for myself—even when I don’t feel worth fighting for.
This isn’t a transformation just for my body.
It’s me trying to find my way back to myself. 🖤
