Imagine having the opportunity to conduct original research and present it at a major academic conference as an undergraduate student – a group of three Guelph-Humber students did just that!
Rachel Balintec, Kaitland Waind, and Dallas Lockhart shared their research about how education can be used to help students learn about peacemaking efforts and nuclear disarmament advocacy (under the supervision of SERC-GC director, Dr. Paul Sherman). They presented at this year’s University of Guelph’s Teaching and Learning Innovations Conference to educators, researchers, and students.
“As an undergraduate student, I think starting [to conduct research] early has been so empowering and has allowed us to come together to discover more parts of ourselves that we might not have even known before,” Rachel shared.
