At the University of Guelph-Humber, it’s not just the students who eagerly crave knowledge. It’s also our instructors who wish to learn more about the art of teaching, giving our students the best possible experience in the classroom. This year, Dr. Nalini Ramlal and Elaine Chan-Dow are the recipients of the teaching and learning bursaries provided by the University to head to educational conferences to become informed on the latest developments in the art of teaching. With teaching philosophies that range from equity in teaching practices, culturally-responsive teaching styles, and taking students’ accommodations and mental health into account, they’re already making a positive difference in the classroom and will share what they learned with the U of GH community.
