From a town of just 2,000 people in Lake Mills, Iowa, to Penn State Football, Caleb Bacon’s journey has been built on perseverance, family and an unwavering work ethic.
The Penn State linebacker/defensive end shares how small-town football shaped him, why being overlooked motivated him, his path from walking on at Iowa State to reaching Penn State, and what convinced him that Happy Valley was the right place for the next chapter of his career.
Bacon also opens up about the sacrifices his parents made for him and his brother, the high school coach who helped launch his recruitment, his excitement for Beaver Stadium and the White Out, and the person who has been beside him through virtually the entire journey: his wife.
From having no offers as a high school junior to wondering whether he would ever see the field in college, Bacon has never forgotten the experiences that got him here.
Now, he’s ready to make his mark at Penn State.
