From the wonderful mind and pen of THE Grammy Award-winning @profjenkins, to the incomparable direction of THE maestro @john.aguilar25, to the beautiful sounds of the AHS Wind Ensemble, we present to you: “Lift Every Voice And Sing” The performance of this piece was beyond just the notes and rhythms, in many different ways. This was the first time this version of the song was performed at a competition or festival. We also got to spend time rehearsing this piece with the writer himself, Mr. Larry Jenkins, a GRAMMY Award-winning educator and composer. Mr. Jenkins and Mr. Aguilar had only known each other via social media and were both on the same GRAMMY Music Educator Award Quarterfinalist and Yamaha 40 Under 40 lists prior to meeting in person.
