Proud achievement: My @YMCA Camp Kitaki story, which I told just two months into my time at @ntvnews after graduating from sportscasting school, won bronze in the Service to Children category at the Nebraska Broadcasters Association Awards. As a graduate of @danpatrickedu , I’ve dreamed of getting into this industry and telling stories for a living my whole life. To have a story recognized this early in my career after the transition of industries - as one of the top three submissions in the state, with entries from TV stations across Nebraska - means a lot. Of course, I always want to be the best. But what makes this one especially meaningful is knowing I got to use my platform, as a sports guys, to share a story about Camp Kitaki and the kids who spend their summers there. I’m proud of the work, proud of how far l’ve come in a short amount of time, and grateful for the opportunity to do what I love every day.
