Our #therapydog team, Candee Monette and Manny, recently spent a week volunteering at Royal Family Kids Camp, a special kind of summer camp for children who have experienced deep trauma. Throughout the week, campers build resiliency, confidence, hope and positive memories in a safe, nurturing environment. Every moment at camp is intentional. For many children, it’s their very first birthday they’ve ever celebrated: Each child is celebrated with their own birthday cake, special gifts, and the joy of feeling truly seen and loved. ❤️ “Manny brings comfort, peace, joy and plenty of smiles. On hard days, kids know they can come sit with Manny, give him a hug and simply feel safe, changing their whole day as they focus on the love of a dog,” Candy shares. “They leave camp feeling loved.
