And standing in front of a Chola temple today, you finally understand why. The Brihadeeswarar Temple isn’t just a temple — it’s an architectural masterpiece, a symbol of Chola pride and a showcase of what human hands could achieve centuries ago. I still don’t understand how they built something this massive — how many years, how much manpower, how much planning, geometry and engineering must have gone into it. More than just looking at it as a place of worship, we should also recognise the craftsmanship, hard work, knowledge and battles behind its creation. And yes, I was genuinely disappointed seeing the current state of maintenance.
