Every single year. Every single year it sneaks up like our people haven’t been doing it for the 5,787 years prior. Four weeks. That’s it. Four weeks until we’re standing in synagogue wondering how it’s already been a year, wearing an outfit we panic-bought, feeding children apples and honey while simultaneously trying to remember if we actually RSVPd to break fast. 🤍 If you have kids: their white outfits need to be located or ordered. ✡️ If you’re hosting: the round challah situation needs a plan. The brisket needs a plan. The seating chart for a table that keeps growing needs a plan. 🤪 If you’re me this year: I will be doing all of the above with five-month-old twin boys who have no concept of Kol Nidre and even less concept of being quiet during it.
