The wreck of a steam ship, built over 100 years ago in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, has emerged from the Sava river in Serbia as a prolonged drought sends water levels to record lows. ⁣ ⁣ The steam tug was built in 1913 in Budapest as the Vag. Later renamed the Slovenac, the unfortunate vessel has had a dramatic history, sinking multiple times in its history, three times during World War II, history professor Aleksandar Zivoti has said.⁣ ⁣ Zivoti says that while parts of the ship are often revealed when water levels are low, this year's extreme drought has exposed more of the wreck than ever, including parts of the ship's interior. ⁣ ⁣ An exceptionally hot, dry summer has left much of Central Europe in a record-breaking drought.
