A woman and kitten have been rescued alive 36 hours after Colombia's earthquake, as rescuers continue to search for dozens of missing people.⁣ ⁣ The woman was found under a toppled hotel and is receiving medical care at a local hospital, according to Interior Minister Rodrigo Lara, in a message shared on X by Colombian President Abelardo De La Espriella.⁣ ⁣ In the same message, De La Espriella said that over 40 people are still being searched for in Pereira.⁣ ⁣ The 7.4-magnitude quake, the most devastating to strike Colombia this century, tore through its coffee-growing heartland early on Monday (August 10), leaving apartment blocks, homes, schools and health centers cracked, leaning or flattened.⁣ ⁣ #colombia #earthquake #rescue ⁣
