Hot take but sound effects have gotten kinda boring. Like we’ve had a full decade of “10 sound effects every editor needs” videos and don’t get me wrong, they do have a job. matching sound to the real world. that’s a real job. But that’s where it ends. a whoosh is a whoosh. there’s no feeling in it. What actually moves people is tone. pitch. a sound that’s actually in the same key as the song you’re already using.
