Do you really have a boundary if the other person has to agree with it?
A boundary isn’t something you need to convince someone else to accept.
You don’t need a long explanation, a perfect reason or their approval for it to be valid.
Sometimes the clearest boundary is simply:
“I can’t do that anymore.”
And that’s uncomfortable — especially when someone has benefited from you not having boundaries.
But if your boundary depends on their agreement, it isn’t really a boundary. It’s a request.
You are allowed to set boundaries that other people don’t like.
