The USS Benfold, a guided missile destroyer, lost power for four days during its deployment in the South China Sea in July, leaving the crew without air conditioning, toilets, potable water and normal galley services. The ship’s repairs were finished by August 8, a spokesperson with the Navy’s 7th Fleet said, after losing power on July 24 following a generator failure.
