#TeachingArtistTuesday: Carlynn Newhouse We want to show some love during #NationalPoetryMonth to our teaching artists that work with our poet-athletes and alumni to improve their craft! Carlynn is a poet, educator, emcee, and performer. She is an Adobe Creativity Scholar, a National YoungArts Finalist, and ranked 4th in the 2020 Women of the World Poetry Slam. She believes poetry is a form of activism and tool for raising awareness in hopes of making the world a safer space. "Youth work has always been my passion and I am able to continue that journey with the powerful young folks at DC SCORES. I feel blessed to work with a staff that is passionate about teamwork and uplifting youth voice and creativity."
