Day 15 of Seahawks training camp, and another entry in my daily visual journal. I started this project because I’d been feeling that my work was “flat”, so I wanted to challenge myself to make an interesting, storytelling photograph every day of training camp. Prepare for the season by sharpening my skills, similar to the players. Today’s lesson: see the entire field. Seeing the entire field is a skill all quarterbacks are taught. They need to read the defense pre- and post-snap, process coverages and know where the open receivers are. Staring down one receiver is a recipe for an interception because the defense knows where the ball is going. I’ve been reminding myself to “see the entire field” during training camp as well. In the middle of a hot and humid practice, I saw offensive lineman Mason Richman pouring water over his head to try to beat the heat.
