Our childhood can affect how comfortable we feel asking for what we need from a partner.
Maybe you were neglected, criticized, ridiculed, or abandoned at home… (most of us experienced some version of this)
So when we need something from our partner... we may hesitate because we’re afraid of becoming a burden or causing conflict.
➡️ We might give more and adjust more
➡️ Hope our partner notices what we need
➡️ Instead of asking for it directly
Being able to say what we need and stand by our boundaries is an important part of healthy relationships 🤍
It doesn’t make us controlling or demanding... it means learning to advocate for ourselves without giving up our needs.
