This summer, Akina Ma’at, C’2029, and Chloe Terry, C’2029, gained a firsthand look at how local government can strengthen communities and create lasting change. At the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs, Akina supported community engagement initiatives, city events, and efforts focused on equity and representation. At the San Francisco Planning Department, Chloe contributed to the Fillmore Community Action Plan through community engagement, historical research, and the development of an interactive StoryMap. Through these experiences, Akina and Chloe strengthened their passion for public service, community development, and equitable public policy. #SpelmanSummer
