The families who know how to navigate the system, push back, follow up, document everything, and advocate relentlessly often end up with better outcomes for their kids.
Not because their children deserve more, but because they had the time, energy, knowledge, or support to keep fighting.
And quite frankly, that doesn’t sit right with me.
No child’s access to education, healthcare, therapies, or community should depend on whether their parent knows the “right” questions to ask, can take time off work for another meeting, or has the emotional bandwidth to keep hearing “no.”
Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.
Every family deserves clear information, meaningful support, and systems that don’t require becoming an expert just to access what they're entitled to.
As disability parents, we’ll keep advocating because our kids deserve nothing less.
