Founding members Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald, who are both the band’s principal songwriters and share vocal, guitar, and bass duties, were just a couple of teenagers in San Diego’s picturesque coastal neighborhood in Ocean Beach, CA, when they started a punk band called Slightly Stoopid in the mid-‘90s. In the three decades since those humble beginnings, Slightly Stoopid has grown into a widely respected touring institution and an accomplished studio band that has cultivated its own distinctive blend of rock, jam, and reggae mixed with classic rock, acoustic soul, punk and hip hop influences.
