Culture isn't just what survives a crisis — it's what helps communities recover from one. Since 2015, the UNESCO Heritage Emergency Fund (HEF) has mobilized over $16 million for culture in crisis. In Ukraine, HEF is training teachers to bring living heritage into classrooms, fighting the illicit trafficking of cultural property, backing artists and communities for human rights, and preparing the next generation of conservators to protect what war has damaged.
