Daniel and Dorothy Jacobi are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, and I decided to photograph the celebration night entirely on film as it would have been 25 years ago. The night I photographed was filled with love and laughter as the group made their way through Portland, Oregon. It would not have been possible without the help of Delaney Jacobi and Jeremy and Rebecca Colwell. The entire night was a surprise to the couple, except for the fact that Dorothy brought along her wedding dress and decided to surprise Daniel with it. After getting ready, Dorothy snuck out of the Colwells’ house as Daniel was finishing up his shower. Rebecca and I then drove Dorothy to the Peninsula Park Rose Garden and waited. Disguised as a roadside stop so that I could take pictures of the flowers, Jeremy, Delaney, and Daniel soon followed and only saw me walking around the garden. “Oh, hey!” I said. “Sorry, I wanted to stop and take photographs.
