A standoff unfolded at the Budget Inn in Holyoke yesterday, as local, state, and Connecticut police, tactical, and investigative units converged on a suspect who was allegedly being pursued in connection with a homicide and shooting that occurred the night prior in Hartford, Conn. The suspect, who barricaded himself in room 2 at the inn, allegedly shot and killed himself after the multi-hour standoff with law enforcement, according to the inn’s owners.
