Numerous affordable housing organizations came together on July 29, 2025, to protest and show support for Bill S.1447, an act that would enable cities and towns to stabilize rents and protect tenants. Protesters would gather inside the Massachusetts State House in Boston, first chanting and giving speeches on the grand staircase. The rally eventually formed into a march through the halls of the State House, ending at the doors of the room where the public hearing was held, where most of the protesters spoke in favor of the bill.
