During the week of August 24–28, temporary rail crossing closures will be necessary, and motorists should expect detours and travel delays. Closures are expected to last approximately five days at each crossing as crews install new rail and complete asphalt work. During each closure, no vehicle traffic will be permitted through the affected crossing. Motorists should use available detours, follow posted signage, and allow additional travel time. This work marks the third phase of the Carolinian and Piedmont Passenger and Freight Improvements (CAPPFI) project, which aims to replace aging rail infrastructure and support safe, reliable freight and passenger rail service.
