We spontaneously decided to take the kids on a three-mile hike to visit Cathedral Cavern, up some steep hills, with no carrier and absolutely no idea how it was going to go. Normally, we’d have said absolutely not. 😂 But the kids were incredible. Something about being here seemed to put an extra spring in their steps, and they threw themselves into the challenge. We met some lovely people along the way, and somehow made it back to the car with two very tired but very happy little explorers. Then Rupert quietly sat in the boot and wrote us a little note: “Mummy and Daddy. This is the best day ever. Thank you.” ❤️ We sobbed! 🥹 Maybe because this whole week has felt like a week of firsts for us as parents.
