Solo side quest to Madeira! A quick stop before I head back to the U.S. and I really had no plans going into this trip. My grandpa loves sharing the story about his first trip to America from Greece. In 1958, when he traveled by ship, the last stop before heading across the Atlantic to New York was Madeira. They only had about 12hrs at each port stop, but this island has been on my travel list ever since hearing his story.
