On the bench: the Dell Pro Precision 5 14s AMD, the Ryzen half of Dell’s 14-inch workstation twins. Same chassis as the Intel version, but the panel gives this one away: a 2560 x 1600 IPS running at 120Hz, an option the Intel build we tested does not get. The badge on the palm rest marks the other difference, a Ryzen AI 9 HX PRO 475 with 24 threads and a 60 TOPS NPU where the class norm is 16 single-threaded cores. It out-compresses its Intel twin by 11% in 7-Zip and renders right with it on CPU, while the Intel build answers with more than nine extra hours of battery.
