Now, they’re among the athletes to watch heading into race weekend. For Tara, Western States marks a return to unfinished business. After a DNF in her debut last year, she’s back looking to put together the race she knows she’s capable of before turning her attention to the @hardrock100run – just two weeks later! For Will, it’s a debut more than a year in the making. Injury prevented him from starting the race last year, but after a breakout 2025 season capped by a course record at Javelina, he arrives in the Olympic Valley as a serious podium threat.   With race day quickly approaching, both athletes are ready for their shot at one of ultrarunning’s biggest stages.
