Your Toronto Zoo’s newest little one is growing quickly, and showing off a big personality 💕
A week ago tomorrow, and at her last weigh-in, Kindia’s calf tipped the scales at 7.68 kg. Closely bonded with mom, this bold and feisty girl is rarely far from her side and is already eager to explore. She’s especially taken with water, confidently playing in shallow pools, drinking from puddles and water bowls, and getting ready to graduate to larger pools as she works her way toward the guest-facing indoor pool. She has also started mouthing hay and veggies, although for now, mom’s milk is still the only thing on the menu.
Her team believes she may give big sister Penelope a run for her money with the level of sass she is carrying. When Kindia is ready for a snooze, she often gets the “zoomies,” twitching with excitement, opening her mouth and even playfully chomping at mom’s legs and feet.
