ICE agents may soon carry electric shock gloves, and civil rights advocates are sounding the alarm. DHS is planning to spend up to $20 million on devices that deliver an electric pulse with the push of a button hidden inside a glove. The manufacturer says they should never be used on children, the elderly, or people with disabilities, but the purchase notice doesn't say how agents will actually be trained or monitored. The ACLU points to ICE's track record, including the deaths of American citizens Renee Good and Alex Pretti earlier this year, as proof this agency has already shown it moves too fast to force.
