Why do we begin with lymphatic drainage?
Because the rest of the facial work can influence tissue fluid and lymphatic flow. Before we begin other manipulations, we want to prepare the drainage pathways first.
We start proximally, around the lower neck and clavicular region, before moving into the face. The work is gentle: light skin stretch and release, following the direction of lymphatic drainage.
This is why lymphatic drainage is not simply another step in the facial. It prepares the tissues for the work that follows.
