There’s something I’ve learned recently that I wish I didn’t have to learn this way: you cannot keep pushing yourself past your limits and expect your body not to eventually say enough. I ended up in the hospital because of multiple extreme panic attacks. And as scary as that was, what scared me even more was realizing how physically my body had reacted. I ended up with a minor case of Bell’s palsy. I’ve always been someone who keeps going. I work, I handle things, I show up, I push through. And somewhere along the way, I stopped paying attention to how much I was carrying. This was a wake-up call. Mental health is health. Anxiety is real. Stress is real. And sometimes your body will force you to slow down when you refuse to do it yourself. So I’m sharing this because maybe someone else needs the reminder I needed: take care of yourself before your body makes the decision for you. Check on your friends. Ask for help. Rest.
