We need this here🙏⁠ ⁠ Politicians in Wales could now face losing their jobs if they deliberately mislead the public 👀⁠ ⁠ Under new rules, Members of the Senedd are explicitly required to be truthful and must not make deliberately misleading statements. If they get something wrong, they're expected to correct the record at the earliest opportunity.⁠ ⁠ For serious misconduct, things can go much further. A recall process can ultimately give voters the chance to decide whether an MS should lose their seat.⁠ ⁠ It doesn't mean politicians automatically get sacked every time they say something inaccurate, the rules distinguish deliberate deception from genuine mistakes and differences of opinion.⁠ ⁠ Wales has also been working on measures aimed at tackling candidates who deliberately make false or misleading factual claims in an attempt to influence Senedd elections.⁠ ⁠ The idea is pretty simple: if you're elected to represent the public, you should be accountable for what you tell them.⁠ ⁠...
