Lubin is choosing to settle down and suit up in red and white this season after jumping from school to school for years. Being the oldest of last year’s few returning players, Gainey will expect him to be a leader. Before grabbing Lubin, NC State had a clear hole in terms of a traditional post defender to throw at some of the ACC’s bigger centers. Lubin’s time playing as a starting center in the league makes him well-suited for that task. On the offensive side of things, Lubin is a mature bucket-getter. He is coming off a season in which he led the ACC in field-goal percentage by a wide margin at 66.8% while averaging 13.6 points per game.
